Ms. Knight has a B.A. in English from the University of Northern Iowa, an M.Ed. in teaching reading from UCLA and an M.A. in counseling from California Lutheran University. For five years she was a lecturer in the curriculum and instruction course in the UCLA Principal Leadership Institute (PLI). She started her work with UCLA SMP as a member of the Curriculum Design Team and the LEARN Governance Task Force after 17 years as a middle and high school English and reading teacher, high school counselor, restructuring grant coordinator, high school year-round coordinator, and teacher-advisor for new teachers in the LAUSD. Her work at SMP includes facilitating teacher-administrator leadership teams, Critical Friends Group Institutes, Classroom Walk-through Institutes, secondary literacy projects, and administrative coaching.
