Ms. Gossard has been a teacher and educational consultant for more than thirty years, including 25 years as a high school and college English teacher. She was a Charter Fellow in the first UCLA Writing Project in 1977. As a professional development consultant, she has designed and directed more than 2,000 workshops, seminars, retreats, and training institutes for schools, colleges, and National Writing Project centers throughout the U.S. Ms. Gossard helped create the language arts curriculum for the GALAXY Classroom® and served as Professional Development Advisor for that program. She specializes in Socratic Seminars, curriculum design, literacy instruction, and English language arts. She currently directs Socratic Seminars, conducting Seminar Leadership Institutes for teachers and administrators. She holds a B.A. in English Literature from Stanford University and an M.A. in English from UCLA.
