Pete Hernandez
Mr. Hernandez is the Executive Director of Legislative Affairs for AT&T California where he represents the company on a wide range of issues before the California State Legislature.
Mr. Hernandez represents the company with various national organizations including the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) and the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC). He is currently the California private sector chair for ALEC.
Prior to that, Mr. Hernandez managed AT&T’s local government affairs activities with the City of Los Angeles. He joined SBC/Pacific Bell in 1990 as a marketing manager, providing telecommunications consulting services to major business customers in Los Angeles.
Prior to AT&T, Mr. Hernandez worked as marketing specialist for the Nestle/Carnation Company, managing the Contadina brand. He also served as process engineer for Shell Oil Company, supporting and coordinating all technical aspects of production and unit performance for several operating plants at the Wilmington Manufacturing Complex in Carson, CA.
Mr. Hernandez is very active in community service and civic activities. He is co-founder of the Academy of Business Leadership and the National Society of Hispanic MBAs. He maintains close ties to Los Angeles city politics, the Friends of the City of Los Angeles Commission on the Status of Women, Project Restore, LA Conservancy, LA City Attorney’s Office, and other political and civic groups from the Los Angeles area.
Mr. Hernandez received his M.B.A. from the Anderson School at the University California, Los Angeles and his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Southern California. He is a graduate of CORO’s Leadership Southern California and has taught courses to entrepreneurs through UCLA Extension.
