Steve Juarez
Mr. Juarez is Vice President, Public Finance, for JPMorgan Chase & Co. where he focuses on higher education and cultural institution clients on the West Coast. His work also includes some general government clients. He is the former Director of Financial Management for the Getty Trust, where he was responsible for the budget, procurement and accounting functions of the Trust, which included the J. Paul Getty Museum, separate institutes covering the fields of research and conservation, an education component, and a grant program.

Prior to his work at the Getty Trust, Mr. Juarez was the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Government & Community Relations at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he directed the University’s external relations with federal, state and local elected officials, public agency representatives and community organizations. Prior to taking his position with UCLA, Mr. Juarez was the Chief Legislative Representative for the County of Los Angeles in Sacramento, where he represented the County before the State Legislature and the executive branch of the state. Mr. Juarez was formerly the Executive Director of the California Debt Advisory Commission and represented the State Treasurer’s Office on a broad spectrum of public finance matters. He has also served in policy positions with the State Legislature and for local government in Los Angeles.

Mr. Juarez’s involvement with public finance and education issues has been varied and extensive. He is currently a Senior Fellow with the School of Public Policy & Social Research at UCLA. He also serves on the Finance Committee and the External Relations of the UCLA Foundation and the Government Relations Committee of the UCLA Alumni Association. He is on the Board of the Southern California Leadership Network, which helps train area professionals on the finer points of leadership. He is currently the President of the Board of the Neighborhood Youth Association, an organization that serves the educational and social development needs of youth in the Mar Vista and Venice communities on the westside of Los Angeles.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from UCLA and a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Southern California. He lives in West Los Angeles with his wife Karen, and three children, Andrew, Kaitlin, and Amy.
