Wendy J. Greuel
Ms. Greuel represents District 2 (including much of East San Fernando Valley) on the Los Angeles City Council, where she also serves as Chair of the Housing and Community Development Committee.
Prior to winning a seat on the City Council, Ms. Greuel headed the government relations department at DreamWorks SKG, where she focused on the company’s government/political relations and charitable giving. She also served as the liaison with the Glendale community and coordinated DreamWorks legislative and governmental activities at the local, state, and national level.
Prior to DreamWorks, Ms. Greuel served as the Field Operations Officer for Southern California for the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) where she championed projects offering opportunities for homeownership, job creation, economic development, and social services for the less fortunate. She coordinated HUD’s earthquake emergency response and recovery programs, the Los Angeles Homeless Initiative, and was instrumental in the establishment of the Los Angeles Community Development Bank.
Ms. Greuel’s public service career began in the office of Mayor Tom Bradley where she was the Mayor’s liaison to the City Council, City Departments and the community on social policy and political issues including child care, AIDS, the homeless, the elderly, and health issues. She has continued her involvement in the community by serving as vice president of the UCLA Alumni Association and chair of the UCLA Alumni Awards Committee. She serves as a board member of the following organizations: LA’s BEST Afterschool Program, Tree People, Shelter Partnership, Project Restore, Alternative Living for the Aging, and the Coro Foundation.
Ms. Greuel received her Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from UCLA.
