  Why Should You Sponsor SMP
UCLA SMP is a non-profit, self-supporting unit of the UCLA Graduate School of Education and Information Studies. We are a non-bureaucratic, flexible, and responsive operation able to respond quickly to school and district needs. As experienced school practitioners, our goal is to support all students reaching high achievement. To maintain our self-sustaining operation, we welcome community and individual partners who believe that public education should be supported as it works on a continuous improvement cycle of reform, reconstruction and renewal.

Steve Juarez, Vice President, Public Finance, for JPMorgan Chase & Co.
“By calling on experienced practioners and leading academics to share their knowledge about teaching and learning with K-12 teachers, principals, and administrators, UCLA SMP is making a profound difference in what happens in the classroom. UCLA SMP training makes it more likely that the people educating our children will view each student as an individual with unique capabilities and needs.”

  • John Kobara, Sr. VP of External and Donor Relations, California Community Foundation
  • “Most everyone understands that reforming and improving our school systems is extremely complex. While there are many entities and people trying to impose change on our schools, SMP’s approach starts with the premise that true reform will come from within the school. SMP is a partner with the schools and helps the administration, teachers, staff, and parents learn how they can work together to improve their school. SMP works in the trenches with these constituents to customize a strategy that can be sustained and yield results. SMP is a research based organization that is helping to improve the quality of education one school at a time.”
