All schools that do not make Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for two or more years are identified for Program Improvement (PI) under the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. The School Improvement Program (SIP) provides supplemental funds to Title I campuses identified for PI. Funds are used to implement the campus’ revised campus improvement plan, which incorporates strategies based on scientifically based research, in ways that have the greatest likelihood of improving the performance of participating children in meeting the state’s student performance standards. There are required services and/or interventions that schools must implement during each year they are in PI and receiving Title I funds.
SMP is currently working with PI schools to as assist in the implementation of school-wide improvement plans. Some of SMP’s Program Improvement (PI) clients include:
- Edison Elementary (Santa Ana USD)
- Franklin Elementary (Santa Ana USD)
- Garfield Elementary (Santa Ana USD)
- Hoover Elementary (Santa Ana USD)
